What No One Tells You About Studying Abroad✈️

Studying abroad is not just the photos, making new friends from around the world, weekend trips, and the great food. And yes, those moments are real. The first time you step off the plane it can feel like you are in a different dimension. Everything is new. Even buying groceries feels adventurous. For a while, life feels like a movie.

But what no one tells you is that eventually, turns into reality.

Homesickness doesn’t always hit on day one. Sometimes it sneaks up on you on a random night when you’re exhausted and just want something familiar. You’ll miss small, ordinary things — your bed, your family’s cooking, your friends from home. And you might feel guilty for missing home when you’re supposed to be having the time of your life.

🎙️There’s also the loneliness people don’t post about. Making friends abroad can feel like speed dating. You introduce yourself over and over again. You push through awkward conversations. Stepping out of your comfort zone is such a great experience.

Then that's when the reality hits, navigating the city, knowing where your classes are, language barriers. It all comes into play which may sound scary but it opens up another challenge and perspective you have in your life.
